Thirty-five technical-vocational trainers from across the country have converged at the Cordillera State Institute of Technical Education (CSITE) Main Campus in Baguio City for a three-week program focused on the migrated and amended Training Regulations (TR) of Food and Beverage Services NC II.
The Regional Lead Trainers Development Program (RLTDP), spearheaded by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) through the National TVET Trainers Academy (NTTA), officially opened on September 14 and runs until September 30, 2026.
The program responds to the transition to the amended FBS NC II Training Regulations, with the 35 participants being prepared to apply and cascade the updated standards in their respective institutions and regions. Among the updated requirements are digital and POS operations, occupational safety and health, waste segregation and the three-bucket system, and room service protocols.
The participants, representing TVET institutions from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, will undergo competency-based modules, industry immersion and observation, and assessment activities as they prepare to serve as lead trainers in their respective institutions and regions.
CSITE Executive Director Daisy C. Bungallon welcomed the participants during the opening ceremony, with messages from Acting TESDA-Cordillera Regional Director Glenn N. Murphy, ROMO-NTTA Assistant Executive Director and Center Administrator Stephen I. Cezar, and ROMO Executive Director David B. Bungallon, who gave profound importance to the role of trainers in TVET.
More than a training activity, the RLTDP supports the nationwide transition to updated FBS NC II standards by strengthening the trainers who will help cascade these standards to other trainers and learners.
For CSITE, hosting the program reinforces its role in advancing trainer development, quality TVET delivery, and nationwide skills collaboration.
