MAYOYAO, Ifugao | Twenty residents of Barangay Nalbu completed Carpentry NC II and Masonry NC I training while helping build a new day care center for their own community.
The 20 trainees, 18 males and two females, received their Training Certificates on August 11, 2026 following a training-cum-production program of TESDA-CSITE Ifugao Campus in partnership with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Mayoyao, LGU-Mayoyao, and the Barangay Local Government Unit of Nalbu.

The trainees applied their skills directly to the construction of the new facility, which replaces the barangay’s former day care center that operated in a small converted rice mill. The project gave them hands-on work experience while providing a needed facility for local children and families.
During the ceremony, trainer Richard N. Liagon was recognized for guiding the trainees throughout the program. CSITE Vocational School Administrator Engr. Eduardo O. Tamayao encouraged the completers to use their scholarship funds to purchase starter toolkits and continue honing their skills.
MSWDO Officer Romana A. Bumilao urged the graduates to take the TESDA National Assessment to earn their National Certificates and expand their employment opportunities. With the new facility now serving the community, the training has produced not only 20 skilled completers but also a tangible project built from the competencies they acquired.
