Seed Planting at CSITE Kalinga Advances Earth Month Climate Efforts

In observance of Earth Month 2026, the TESDA-Cordillera State Institute of Technical Education (CSITE) Kalinga Campus conducted a seed planting program at its campus park on April 27, 2026, adopting a climate-responsive approach to environmental conservation.

Carrying the theme, โ€œWhen Trees Canโ€™t Stand, Seeds Will Rise: Planting Resilience Through Forest and Fruit Seed Planting,โ€ the initiative gathered administrators, trainers, and trainees in a unified effort to promote sustainability and climate resilience.

Participants included personnel and trainees from Automotive Servicing NC I, Organic Agriculture Production NC II, and Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II, highlighting the integration of environmental awareness into technical education programs.

CSITE Kalinga Administrator Sherwin C. Bali underscored the importance of adaptive strategies in environmental initiatives, particularly in response to current climate conditions.

Due to prevailing drought in the region, traditional tree planting was deemed impractical because of low seedling survival rates. As an alternative, the campus implemented seed planting to ensure long-term environmental impact once weather conditions improve.

Participants engaged in hands-on seed planting activities, with guidance on proper techniques to support optimal growth and future viability.

The initiative reflects CSITE Kalingaโ€™s continued commitment to sustainable practices and climate resilience, reinforcing its role in developing not only skilled workers but also environmentally responsible citizens.
